When it Rains, Get Creative!

The first project was to decorate the yard. My husband and I made tombstones from Styrofoam, and put up a wolf-man to watch over our graveyard. We also put lights in the bushes and found a huge tree limb and buried it to make a spooky tree with our flying ghost in it!

We even got our Pittsburg Kansas Gorilla in the spirit of the season!

After spending an entire day decorating my front yard for Halloween, a windy rain storm came that lasted for about 3 1/2 days. It took away all my tombstones and left me with just my wolf-man and the limb I used as a tree. It stopped for about 2 days then came back for about a week, thanks to a tropical storm out in the ocean.

BUT, thanks to the rainy weather we have had here in South Georgia the past 2 weeks, I've had the chance to sit down and get creative with several different craft projects!! My mother had a ton of flowering pots and we used them to create different things, candy corn, witch faces, spiders, but my two favorite is my scarecrow with little black crows!

My  second favorite would have to be my sparkly snowman!! but he is still a work in progress...

My most favorite projects of them all would have to be the outfits I made for my little man!! I love love LOVE how he looks in red, I don't know if it his hair or what but I love it!! So I made him a little hat and scarf that are so soft that keep his little noggin warm, he is like me, he gets cold easy :)

Also, we are taking him to Alabama for the Tennessee game this Saturday so we have to let him represent the best football team, without spending $40 for him to do it... so I made this...
Thanksgiving is also coming up so I made this too...

SO, even when the rain comes, find something fun and positive to do!!

It's my favorite time of year again!! Who doesnt like cooler weather, falling leaves, pumpkins, and Alabama football. It only helps build the excitment, that my birthday falls 3 days before my favorite Holiday, Halloween!! This past week we have been getting ready for the "spooktacular" holiday by decorating our entire house, it is after all my little boy's first Halloween!!
Hyrum is getting so big now! He has been rolling over and sleeping through the night since he was born, but he is finally getting to where he holds up his little noggin well enough to sit up with very little support from anyone, he should be sitting up by Halloween!

Another exciting even coming up this month is our Halloween Fun Run with the horse. We all get to dress up and go to a big festival event on the 29th!! You bring your horse to the festival and dress it up for Halloween and you dres up to match! They have contest and games and a whole bunch of activitys to do! Our horse is going to be our dead skeleton horse.
We plan on being a little zombie family to match her. I am woking on giving her some bony looking wings as well, made from wire and shreded material. It's going to be epic :) I even found a wedding dress for $15 that i have totaly destroyed for my costume, and a suite for Reggie and Hyrum. My little sister will also be going with her pony and they are going to be rednecked hillbillys. Its an event that will be remembered forever!
Also, one other even in the works for this glorious month is a short family trip to Orlandos Disney World Resort: The Magic Kingdom. We went on the 20th of October last year as a late honeymoon for my husband and I, and this year we plan on making another trip down on the 15th-18th! My brother, Uncle Joseph, will be coming with us so that we can all take turnes going on the few rides Hyrum cant go on. Splash Mt, Thunder Mt, and Space mt. Last year when we went the longest line was a 45 minute line for Space Mt. and you could practically walk onto splash Mt and the hounted house, which is almost unheard of, so hopefully we will be just as lucky this next go around!!In all it is a very eventful month for us! I love October!!
